Department Overview
The Department of Molecular & Medical Genetics has an immediate opening for a full-time (1.0 FTE) genetic counselor specializing in pediatric genetics. The selected candidate will join our pediatric genetics team involving multiple MDs, NPs, genetic counselors, genetic counseling assistants and administrative staff.
Function/Duties of Position
This position will be actively involved in clinical genetic counseling services for in-person patient care and telehealth outpatient clinics alongside MD/NPs as well as through independent GC-led telehealth visits.
The counselor will participate in overall coordination of patient care including intake, assessment, counseling, test coordination, and follow-up.
Our genetic counselors are involved in several pediatric multidisciplinary clinics, working in partnership with care teams and medical geneticists.
In addition to direct patient care, our genetic counselors serve a primary role in education to medical trainees, genetic counseling students and other health care providers.
Participation in research and publication is also encouraged for interested faculty.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Genetics/Genetic Counseling from an ACGC accredited training program
- Board Certified or an Active Candidate through the ABGC
- Maintain, or be eligible, for Oregon state and Washington state genetic counseling licensure

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling from an ACGC accredited program. Applicants are required to be Board Certified or an Active Candidate through the ABGC and must be eligible for licensure in Oregon and Washington.
