Job Description
Director of Nursing (DON)
Let’s be honest—this isn’t an easy job. But it should be a great one.
- If you’re a Director of Nursing (or ready to step into the role), you already know what matters:
- A team you can actually lead
- Support that shows up when it counts
- Expectations that are clear (and realistic)
- And a building where your work makes a real difference
- If you’re not getting that where you are… keep reading.
What You’re Walking Into
- This isn’t a “figure it out on your own” situation. You’ll have:
- A leadership team that’s engaged and accessible
- Clinical support at the regional and corporate level
- A team that wants direction and consistency
- The ability to lead—not just react
Are there challenges? Of course. It’s healthcare.
- But you won’t be doing it alone.
- And just so you know— you’re not applying into a black hole or talking to a recruiter who’s never stepped foot in a building.
- You’ll be connected directly with our team.
Let’s Keep This Simple
If you’re even slightly curious, let’s talk.
No long application. No pressure. Just a conversation to see if this could be a fit—for both of us.
Requirements
What we’re looking for:
Someone Who Can
- Lead a team without losing the human side of leadership
- Hold people accountable while still building them up
- Stay organized when things get busy (because they will)
- Communicate clearly—with staff, families, and providers
- Step in when needed, but also build a team that can stand on its own
The Usual Physical Stuff
You’ll be walking, standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and occasionally ducking flying juice cups or a very enthusiastic hug from a grateful resident. Bodily fluids happen, but we’ve got PPE, protocols, and a good laundry team.
- What We Offer (besides great coffee and lots of laughs):
- Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k, PTO—you name it)
- Career advancement opportunities—we love helping our team grow from within
- A supportive, family-owned environment that actually feels like family
- A no-drama, solution-focused workplace culture built on respect, integrity, and genuine appreciation
- A chance to make a real difference in the lives of residents—and your coworkers
The Fine Print
Employment offers are contingent on a successful background check and drug screen. (We like to keep things professional and above board.)
Helia Healthcare, LLC is an equal opportunity employer. We believe diversity makes us stronger, smarter, and better at what we do—and we’re proud to build inclusive teams that reflect the communities we serve.
