To provide occupational therapy services as prescribed by a physician, which can be safely provided in the home and to assist the physician in evaluating the patient’s level of function by applying diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Schedule residents for treatment and evaluations.

Guide the patient in his/her use of therapeutic, creative and self-care activities for the purpose of improving function.

Observe and record activities and findings in the clinical record to report to the physician the resident’s reaction to the treatment.

Instruct the resident, family members and other health team personnel, when appropriate, in therapeutic procedures.

Maintain inventory of materials and supplies for the assigned area of the department/facility.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience.
• Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Florida
• Previous experience in long-term care preferred.

Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English. Spanish preferred.

Basic math skills required.
