Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Certified Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, you will be a recognized expert and leader in pharmaceutical care, driving optimal medication outcomes and promoting safe, effective, and evidence-based pharmacotherapy for complex patient populations. Every day you will provide advanced clinical pharmacy services, including comprehensive medication management, pharmacokinetic dosing, adverse drug reaction monitoring, and drug information to physicians and other healthcare professionals. To be successful in this role, you must possess advanced clinical knowledge and decision-making skills, exemplary communication and leadership abilities, and a steadfast commitment to optimizing patient pharmacotherapy and ensuring medication safety.
Promotes long and short-range planning to respond and integrate within the market, Region, and system.
Works collaboratively with pharmacy peers to standardize clinical pharmacy systems when appropriate
Works, as directed by facility pharmacy leadership, on developing, coaching and mentoring pharmacy staff to maximize their scope of practice in the provision of clinical pharmacy services and scholarly activities across the continuum of care.
Educates the medical staff regarding cost-effective, quality pharmaceutical care based on evidence based medicine and best practices.
Participates in assigned committees relevant to their knowledge, experience and practice area
Assures that clinical pharmacy initiatives are in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
The Certified Clinical Pharmacist Specialist provides advanced clinical pharmacy services, including comprehensive medication management and pharmacokinetic dosing for complex patient populations. They also lead clinical initiatives, mentor pharmacy staff, and educate medical staff on evidence-based, cost-effective pharmaceutical care.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, along with residency completion or two years of clinical experience. A valid Kentucky pharmacist license and relevant board certifications are required upon hire.
