- Inpatient Psychiatrist
- Location: Riverwoods Behavioral Health, 223 Medical Center Drive, Riverdale, GA 30274
- We are currently seeking to add a Full-Time Psychiatrist to join our team!
About the Role
This role is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

RiverWoods Behavioral Health is part of Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the leading provider of medication-assisted treatment in the nation. Our team provides compassionate, high-quality counseling, therapy, medication, and guidance to patients seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.
- Caseload: 20-25 patients daily
- Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday
- On Call Schedule: FR 5pm – MO; 7am 1 weekend per month
- Compensation: 1099 $5,000 monthly stipend
- Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility
- Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures
- Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations
- Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders
- Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications
- Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner
- Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures
- Education/Experience/Skills Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) REQUIRED
- One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred
- Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate
- Licenses/Certifications
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry
Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) and possess a valid state medical license. Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry and current DEA credentials for prescribing controlled substances are required.
