Job Description

Company Overview

Over the past 40 years, Chaparral Medical Group (CMG) has established itself as a leading primary and multi-specialty care provider for California’s Inland Empire. In 2022, CMG joined forces with Akido Labs, a tech-enabled healthcare company, to transform the healthcare experience from the ground up.

This partnership joins CMG’s medical services with Akido’s innovative technology to relieve the frustrations felt by everyone involved in care delivery, from medical providers and their staff, to the patients and their families.

Ultimately, this means our providers spend more time caring for patients and less time bogged down with administrative work.

As part of the Akido medical network, we are currently responsible for more than 250,000 patients in Southern California, with plans to expand into new markets across the U.S. We care deeply about the communities we serve and are committed to providing accessible, high quality healthcare that helps our patients and communities live their fullest lives.

We're building a dynamic, diverse and driven team as we continue to grow and broaden our impact. We are seeking passionate people who care deeply about helping patients and communities. We hope you’ll join our team

The Opportunity

Chaparral Medical Group is seeking a Dermatology Physician Associate (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide comprehensive care for conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in medical dermatology and cosmetic procedures. Alongside the physician, this provider will diagnose and treat dermatologic conditions, perform skin exams and office-based procedures.

Responsibilities include examining patients, taking medical histories, prescribing medications, and ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests. The Dermatology PA/NP will also perform procedures such as skin biopsies, excisions, wound checks, and select cosmetic treatments (e. g., chemical peels, Botox, blue light therapy), while counseling patients on hygiene, skin care, and preventive health measures.

You will work closely and efficiently with a multidisciplinary team, collaborating/supervising physician, and an established referral network to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care — supported by the Medical Director and aligned with clinical protocols and quality programs.

What You'll Do

  • Perform skin exams and diagnose conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails
  • Treat acne, eczema, psoriasis, and other acute and chronic skin conditions
  • Perform office-based procedures, including skin biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and wound checks
  • Perform cosmetic procedures such as Botox and blue light therapy, as interested/trained
  • Document patient encounters, findings, and treatments accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests; coordinate consultations with other healthcare providers as needed
  • Review test results and identify abnormal findings, ensuring timely follow-up
  • Develop and implement individualized short- and long-term treatment plans
  • Provide patient education, addressing concerns and promoting skin health, hygiene, and preventive care

Work efficiently and collaboratively with the care team, delivering services in compliance with clinic policies, CHDP, managed care, and other program guidelines
