Job Description

Physical Therapist at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA.

This position is Perdiem and will work 10-hour, day shifts.

Evaluates, plans, directs and administers medically prescribed physical therapy programs in the hospital to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury, or loss of body part.

Assists patient to reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities.

The staff Physical Therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Physical Therapy Assistants and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that individual.

Performs administrative duties and participates in department Performance Improvement, Infection Control, Safety and Education programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of the American Physical Therapy Association training program.
  • Coursework/Training: Foreign trained applicants must complete successful entry level educational equivalency review.
  • Upon hire: California Physical Therapist License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in acute care, skilled nursing facility, outpatient, or sub-acute care settings.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and administers medically prescribed therapy programs to restore patient function and prevent disability. They also oversee the care provided by Physical Therapy Assistants and participate in departmental administrative and safety programs.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an American Physical Therapy Association training program and hold a valid California Physical Therapist License. A BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
