Job Description

  • Behavior Analyst - Treatment Coordinator (BCBA) | Helping Youth Build Skills, Confidence & Independence
  • Wellspring Lutheran Services – New Directions, Livonia | Full-Time | Salary $70,000
  • Accepting applications through October 28, 2026

You chose this field because you believe every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.

You understand that behavior is communication. Behind every challenge is a need waiting to be understood, every behavior tells a story, and every breakthrough begins with someone willing to look beyond the behavior to see the person.

You entered Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field because you wanted to make a meaningful difference. You wanted to help individuals develop skills, build independence, strengthen relationships, and experience success in ways that are meaningful to them.

At New Directions, you'll have the opportunity to do exactly that.

Our Specialized Developmental Disabilities Unit provides enhanced residential treatment services for youth with Autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other specialized support needs. Through trauma-informed care, individualized treatment planning, education, life skills development, and therapeutic supports, we help young people build the skills needed to navigate daily life and achieve greater independence.

We're looking for a Behavior Analyst / Treatment Coordinator who is passionate about helping youth, supporting teams, and creating treatment plans that result in meaningful growth and lasting success.

Most importantly, you'll help young people develop the skills, confidence, and support systems needed to create brighter futures.

What Your Impact Will Look Like

You'll play a central role in understanding each resident's unique strengths, needs, communication styles, and goals. Through assessment, observation, collaboration, and relationship-building, you'll help create treatment approaches that support meaningful progress.

You'll work closely with youth, families, direct care staff, residential leadership, therapists, and community partners to ensure treatment plans are individualized, practical, and integrated into daily life.

You'll help staff understand the "why" behind behaviors and equip them with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to support residents effectively.

You'll collaborate with families and caregivers, helping them remain active participants in treatment planning and skill development while preparing youth for long-term success beyond residential care.

You'll contribute to permanency planning, discharge preparation, and aftercare efforts, helping ensure each young person has the greatest opportunity for success after leaving the program.

Some days you'll be conducting assessments and developing behavior support plans. Other days you'll be coaching staff, facilitating parent training sessions, participating in treatment team discussions, or celebrating a milestone that took months of work to achieve.

Every day, you'll have the opportunity to help young people accomplish things they may have once believed were out of reach.

The Professional We're Looking For

  • You believe every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
  • You are passionate about supporting individuals with Autism and developmental disabilities.
  • You approach challenges with curiosity, compassion, and a strengths-based mindset.
  • You enjoy collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and mentoring others.
  • You understand that lasting progress happens when treatment plans are practical, individualized, and consistently implemented.
  • You are committed to trauma-informed, person-centered care.
  • You find fulfillment in helping others achieve meaningful goals.

What You'll Bring

  • Graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related fiend such as Psychology or Special Education.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential required.
  • Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) credential required.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Experience with adolescents, residential treatment, and standardized assessments such as AFLS, ABLLS, or Vineland preferred.
  • Strong assessment, training, communication, and treatment planning skills.
