Job Description
- Assignment Length: Ongoing coverage need

Practice Setting
- Inpatient coverage
- Observation/Inpatient floor level of care
- Intermediate level of care
- Average census 8-10
Responsibilities include
- Respond to codes and rapid responses
- Ventilator management experience preferred
- Management of step-down level patients
- Ability to manage stabilization of critically ill patient and arrange for transport to tertiary care level
- Small community hospital
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00a-6:00p
- Patient Population: Adult
- EMR: Cerner
- Credentialing: 60-90 days
Requirements
- Willing to await licensure
- Board certification
- NPs must have Acute Care certification
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Vermont DEA certification
- Minimum 2-3 years Hospitalist experience or equivalent
- Clean malpractice and background
Job Responsibilities (Generalized)
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

- Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
- Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
- Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
Requirements
Education:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e. g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Licenses & Certifications
Willing to await licensure
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e. g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Experience
While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
