Join National Heritage Academies as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant at Advantage Charter Academy (Part-Time) in Baker, Louisiana. This position is scheduled for 12 hours per week. School Information: Located in Baker, LA, Advantage Charter Academy opened in 2014 and serves 600+ K-8 students every year.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist SLPs in conducting individual or group therapy sessions and implement treatment plans.

• Assist with speech and language screenings and evaluations and help gather data on student performance.

• Prepare rooms for therapy sessions, gather necessary equipment, and organize therapy materials.

• Communicate with students and other professionals to meet the emotional needs of students.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.

• Provisional SLPA's require 100 clinical practicum hours, while full SLPA's require 225 clinical practicum hours.

• The first 100 hours are completed through the education insittuion, while the remaining 125 can be obtained through on-th-job hours. This can be at a school supervised by a fully SLP.

• Experience working in a school setting, preferably with K-12 populations.
