Respiratory Therapist
Under the supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist or licensed physician, the Respiratory Therapist for the Department of Medicine will provide respiratory support to all patients with abnormalities of cardiopulmonary function. Administration and monitoring of all diagnostic and therapeutic modalities within the service’s scope of practice.
The Respiratory Therapist will be required to conduct Pulmonary Function Tests primarily at the MAP practice, but will be required to provide PFT services at Hutch location as needed.
This is a part-time position,
Tuesday-Friday 7:30-6pm. 3400 Bainbridge Ave 2nd Floor.
*Travel to other locations (Hutch) based on operational needs.
Job Requirements
- Associates degree in Respiratory Care required
- Graduate of AMA a respiratory therapist program
- One year of experience required.
- Current NYS respiratory therapist license.
- CRTT or RRT or registry eligible by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- BLS by the American Heart Association.
Equipment Operation
- Pasteurmatic for the cleaning and disinfection of non-disposable respiratory care equipment.
- Oxygen and air cylinders and regulators

Key Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory support to patients with cardiopulmonary abnormalities and administers diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. They are responsible for conducting Pulmonary Function Tests at designated medical practice locations.
Requirements
Candidates must hold an Associate degree in Respiratory Care and possess a current NYS respiratory therapist license. One year of experience and BLS certification by the American Heart Association are required.
