Description
Under the supervision of staff physicians, this position will provide primary health care services as a member of a health care team comprised of hospital physicians, mid-level practitioners and nursing personnel. Primary responsibilities relate to management of health care for certain patients and families as assigned.

Position Schedule & Environment
- CRSM – Indianapolis position working in Pulmonary Critical Care with a traditional schedule:
- 7A – 5P daytime shift
- Pulmonary Critical Care at Franciscan South Campus, Indy Location
- 7 days on / 7 days off
Summary of Duties
Performance of health assessments, including a thorough history and physical examination, ordering or performing certain diagnostic tests, evaluation of the psychosocial and family aspects of the situation sufficient to make a general health assessment, and diagnose the nature of common acute and chronic conditions.
Referral of complex and high-priority cases to the physician on duty regarding complicated diagnostic problems, serious illness, complicated therapeutic problems, re-evaluation of chronic conditions, etc.
Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment. Provides patient education.
- Triages calls from nursing staff regarding patient issues.
- Completes all documentation requirements into the EMR system.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Indiana license to practice the duties of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Certification in BLS and ACLS
- Acute Care Experience or Training a Plus
- Ability to relate well with patients and other health care personnel
- Ability to work as a team member
Education and Experience
Graduated from a certified Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant or related program, which entails training as well as practice in the above-mentioned duties.
- Prefer previous experience providing medical care within a hospital or clinical environment.
- Current Indiana license to practice the duties of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
