Job Summary: Oversee the day-to-day programs and routines of players going through physical therapy and rehabilitation programs within the Cincinnati Reds Rehab Department.

Education & Licensure
- Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree, required.
- Ability to obtain Physical Therapy licensure in the state of Arizona.
- APTA Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) or Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) preferred.
- Upper Extremity Fellowship or Orthopedic/Sports Medicine Fellowship preferred.
Experience
- Previous work/educational experiences that have prepared the candidate for a start in professional baseball.
Skills
- Independent judgment and ability to multitask is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work long, flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- Must be trustworthy and comfortable with managing sensitive information.
- High level of interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with wide range of departments, seniority levels and personalities.
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications and communication platforms in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EMR and Slack).

- Spoken and written fluency in English.
- Spoken and written fluency in Spanish preferred.
- Ability to travel within the United States and internationally.
- Willing to relocate. This position is based at our Player Development Complex in the Goodyear, Arizona with potential for roving responsibilities to the affiliates and the Dominican Republic Academy.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Duty
Description
Rehab Objectives – 40%
- Work in collaboration with our Medical & Strength staffs on rehab of players/protocols and their return to play schedules.
- Manage return-to-play process for all assigned rehabbing players including:
- Communication to Director, Rehab & Physical Therapy of current status and rehab approach.
- Collaborative daily program planning with strength & conditioning staff, as well as facilitating mental skills, nutrition and wellness professionals into the player’s plan of care.
- Proper transition of player care during rehab assignment and progression to affiliate team.
Injury Assessment & Protocol – 30%
- Utilizing an objective based approach to injury assessment, treatment and return-to-play management.
- Assist in development of injury specific protocols and educational content for staff.
Operations & Support – 20%
- Assist with training room tasks as necessary, including but not limited to medical administration, evaluation and treatment of injuries, and assistance of the Rehab staff with daily training room duties.
- Assist with implementation and completion of Spring Training and End of Season physicals throughout organization.
- Assist with internship/fellowship program development and implementation.
- Assist medical department with duties as needed.
- Assist with coordination and monitoring of rehab athletes at outside clinics in the off-season.
Administrative & Other - 10%
- Other duties as assigned by the Player Development / Medical leadership.
- Off-season tasks and attendance of education and departmental meetings as scheduled are required.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds (equipment, medical equipment, etc.).
- Ability to bend, squat, reach, and climb stairs regularly in the course of daily duties
- Comfortable working in varying conditions (heat, humidity, cold, outdoors, confined spaces like locker rooms).
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks such as equipment setup, rehab-related movement, etc.
- Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for tasks like organizing equipment, using computer programs and performing hands-on therapy.
- Ability to remain on feet to work long and variable hours, including weekends and holidays.
