Job Description
This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide essential obstetrics and gynecology care to a diverse patient community. As a locum tenens provider, you will step into a vital role that ensures continuity of care and supports the ongoing health needs of patients throughout the region.
In this role, you will deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological services within a collaborative medical practice environment. You will manage prenatal care, perform deliveries, conduct gynecological examinations, and handle a range of women's health concerns. Working alongside a dedicated team of nurses, midwives, and support staff, you will contribute directly to positive patient outcomes and the overall success of the practice during your assignment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to obstetrical patients
- Perform gynecological examinations, screenings, and diagnostic evaluations
- Manage labor and delivery, including both vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of women's health conditions and disorders
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
- Perform gynecological surgical procedures as required
- Counsel patients on reproductive health, family planning, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and documentation
- Collaborate with nursing staff, midwives, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to obstetrical emergencies
- Adhere to all clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or board eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Wellsville
- Associate-level experience in obstetrics and gynecology clinical practice
- Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification
- Proven competency in prenatal care, labor and delivery, and gynecological procedures
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented medical practice
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Willingness to participate in on-call schedules and handle emergency situations
Schedule: 8,12 or 24-hour shifts
Will cover office visits and take weekday and weekend call
Must be board-certified
