About the Role

Join Mater as a Social Worker in United States. About the role Mater Health is looking for Social Workers to join our Mater Mother’s Hospital Social Work team! This permanent, full-time position will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to less experienced health practitioners, allied health assistants, students, support staff and volunteers in the delivery of clinical services
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within professional and multidisciplinary teams
  • Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies to facilitate patient centred care

Requirements

Applicants must hold a social work degree eligible for membership with the AASW and ideally possess experience providing social work services in a health setting supporting mothers, babies, and women. Essential requirements include demonstrated clinical practice, application of judgement, effective communication, and the capacity to participate in quality and service improvement activities.
