$77.910 - $100.530 - $112.590

To deliver health care in the Physician Assistant role at a Hospital within Sharp HealthCare.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Physician Assistant program.
- California Physician Assistant License - CA Physician Assistant Board -REQUIRED
- ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
1 Year Physician Assistant experience.
Essential Functions
- Clinical
- Assess all patients in Acute care setting for service line population, within scope of practice.
Develops patient data base through a comprehensive health history, physical examination and laboratory studies/diagnostic tests as indicated.
Orders diagnostic tests and interprets data, discriminating between normal/abnormal findings. Formulates, implements and evaluates an ongoing plan of care incorporating interdisciplinary input. Manages treatment modalities.
Counsels and supports patients and families, utilizing appropriate knowledge, training and experience. Facilitates/provides opportunity for improvement in outcomes for service line patient population.
- Performs interventions per approved standardized procedures.
- Documentation
- Creates/Maintains appropriate documentation and record keeping for all patient contacts.
Education
- Assists in developing learning experiences to meet the needs of staff, community, and patients.
- Provides health teaching to staff, patients and families to increase their knowledge base.
- Enhances patient / family learning and health behaviors.
Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills in area of specialty when consulted by interdisciplinary team members.
Leadership
- Promotes interdisciplinary planning and coordination of ongoing patient care.
- Collaborates and refers appropriately to other members of the health care team.
- Acts as a role model for staff.
- Functions as a contributing member within the appropriate service line.
- Develops and updates standardized procedures.

- Meets department's expectations for daily volume.
- Professional competency
- Maintains membership in appropriate professional organizations.
- Promotes Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant roles to patients, staff and community.
Remains current in new trends of clinical practice, e. g., health care legislation, research and CE/CME programs for licensure renewal.
Attends NP/PA meetings and specialty case conferences.
Recognizes self-development needs and seeks out resources or experiences that promote professional growth.
