Job Description
Capital Medical Group is seeking a dedicated NP to join the Primary Care team. You will work closely with physicians to provide comprehensive care for patients with various primary care conditions. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, follow up appointments, as well as manage patient load.
Job Summary
Participates in team-focused patient care by means of patient examinations augmented by diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations/interventions in the outpatient clinic environment. The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization, with department-specific credentialing from the institution.
What You'll Do
As a valued member of our healthcare team, the PA/NP will play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in a clinical setting. Responsibilities includ1. Using medical decision-making skills to determine an appropriate patient care plan.
2. Collaborates with the medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
3. Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
4. Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
5. Potential for and encouraged to precept students and/or medical learners.
6. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements
Must have 3 years plus Outpatient FM experience
- Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master's degree or higher required
- Current District of Columbia Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
- Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC
- Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration, for prescription writing is required to start.

Key Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner will conduct patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop comprehensive care plans in an outpatient clinic. They will collaborate with the medical team and participate in the precepting of students and medical learners.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Master's degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and possess at least 3 years of outpatient family medicine experience. Current DC licensure, board certification (AANP or ANCC), BLS certification, and DEA registration are required.
