Job Requirements

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System located in Spartanburg, SC currently has an opening for a full-time, board certified Hospice & Palliative Medicine Physician to join the Palliative Care and Hospice teams of Spartanburg Regional. This physician will work alongside two physicians, six advanced care practitioners, nurses, chaplains, social workers, and administration to provide palliative care in the community and in specialized office based practice as well as inpatient consultation. This position requires flexibility due to the patient load and demands of the program.

  • Attend IDT meetings
  • After-hours and weekend on call (phone call only) no more than 1/4 rotation
  • Weekend coverage for inpatient hospice home no more than 1/4 rotation
  • Patient related administrative duties
  • Must be flexible due to patient load and demands of program
  • PSLF approved institution

The Palliative Care Program is well complemented by a long-standing Spartanburg Regional Hospice Program that includes a freestanding 15-bed Hospice Home.

Key Responsibilities

The physician will provide palliative care in community, office, and inpatient settings while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include attending IDT meetings, managing patient-related administrative tasks, and participating in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

Candidates must be board certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine. The role requires flexibility to manage patient loads and program demands.
