Key Responsibilities
The Hospice Physician is responsible for certifying patient eligibility, conducting face-to-face home visits, and providing 24/7 on-call coverage. They also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality, goal-directed patient care.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a doctorate in allopathic or osteopathic medicine and possess a current, unrestricted medical license in the practicing state. Board certification in a primary care specialty and valid DEA registration are required, with hospice and palliative medicine certification preferred.
