Part time Social Worker in the MUP

Join Saint Barnabas Medical Center as a Part time Social Worker in the MUP in New York. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Interview patient and/or family to obtain psychosocial information and assess the patient’s functional level, relative to safety and/or discharge planning needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Interview patient and/or family to obtain psychosocial information and assess the patient’s functional level, relative to safety and/or discharge planning needs.

• Promote a safe, cooperative and professional health care environment to ensure optimum patient care (as per HR Policy 113c) 3.

• Make Customer Service a priority, treating customers (patients, visitors, and co workers) in a professional manner exercising courtesy and tact.

Requirements

• Education Required: Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.  Participation in continuing education activities is expected.

• License(s) Required: New York State Licensure (LMSW).

• New York State Certification (CSW).

• Experience/Skills Required:   (2) years’ experience in a hospital setting, and related to the department the worker will be assigned.

• Part-Time position.

• No explicit call, weekend, or night shift information provided.
