Job Description

Psych Associates is an established private-pay psychology and behavioral health practice serving children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in the Springfield area. Our practice provides psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and consultation within a professional, collaborative setting.

We are seeking a licensed psychologist who wants more than a traditional staff-clinician position.

This opportunity is designed for a psychologist who wants to maintain meaningful clinical work while developing toward a larger role in the clinical leadership of an established private practice.

The psychologist joining Psych Associates will initially focus on building a strong caseload based on their interests and areas of competence. Depending on experience and professional interests, this may include psychotherapy, psychological assessment, consultation, or a combination of services.

Over time, the right psychologist will have the opportunity to assume increasing responsibility for areas such as clinical consultation, quality of care, development of specialty services, mentorship of clinicians, assessment services, hiring and onboarding of clinical staff, and broader clinical leadership within the practice.

We are particularly interested in finding someone who could become a long-term senior member of Psych Associates and help shape the future direction of the practice.

Clinical Responsibilities May Include

  • Provide evidence-informed outpatient psychotherapy within areas of competence
  • Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments when appropriately trained and credentialed
  • Develop individualized treatment recommendations and monitor clinical progress
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and professionally appropriate documentation
  • Manage clinical risk, safety concerns, mandated-reporting obligations, and professional boundaries appropriately
  • Consult and coordinate with physicians, schools, attorneys, family members, and other professionals when clinically appropriate and properly authorized
  • Participate in clinical consultation and professional development
  • Contribute to the continued development of high-quality clinical services

As the Role Develops, Leadership Opportunities May Include

  • Providing consultation and mentorship to other clinicians
  • Supporting clinical quality and documentation standards
  • Assisting with clinician selection, onboarding, and professional development
  • Helping develop psychological assessment and specialty service lines
  • Participating in clinical policy and practice development
  • Helping address complex clinical or professional issues within the practice
  • Assuming increasing responsibility for the clinical direction of Psych Associates

This is not an administrative-only position. We are looking for a psychologist who enjoys practicing psychology but is also interested in having a meaningful voice in how a successful private practice develops.

Requirements

Required qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from an appropriately accredited program
  • Current Missouri psychologist license or clear eligibility for Missouri licensure
  • Strong clinical judgment and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to ethical, evidence-informed, patient-centered care
  • Ability to work independently while functioning effectively within a group practice
  • Strong professional accountability and dependable follow-through
  • Timely and clinically appropriate documentation
  • Interest in developing a substantial clinical and/or assessment caseload
  • Interest in contributing to the long-term development of the practice

Preferred Qualifications

  • Several years of independent practice following licensure
  • Experience providing psychological assessment
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, consulting with, or leading other clinicians
  • Experience in private practice, healthcare, university, hospital, or multidisciplinary clinical settings
  • Experience collaborating with physicians, attorneys, schools, or other professionals
  • Established specialty expertise or interest in developing a specialty area
  • Interest in clinical leadership, program development, or practice operations

The strongest candidate will be clinically excellent, emotionally mature, dependable, collegial, and comfortable assuming increasing responsibility.

We are less interested in finding someone who simply wants a place to see patients and more interested in finding a psychologist who could become an important long-term leader within Psych Associates.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time W-2 position with production-based compensation.

Psych Associates is a private-pay practice, allowing psychologists to practice without the administrative burden and treatment restrictions often associated with insurance-panel participation.

Compensation will depend upon the psychologist's clinical mix, volume, and services provided. Psychological assessment and other specialty services may provide additional earning opportunities beyond psychotherapy.

As meaningful leadership responsibilities are assumed, additional leadership compensation may be developed to reflect the scope of those responsibilities.

Psych Associates Provides

  • An established referral base
