Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Rancho Pediatrics (Temecula, CA)

Job Summary

The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed in this job. Incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Rancho Pediatrics, part of Rancho Family Medical Group, is an award-winning practice dedicated to the health and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents. As a fast-growing and well-respected private practice in Southwest Riverside County, our Pediatric Nurse Practitioners examine and treat patients from birth through age 18. Responsibilities include well-child visits and developmental screenings, sick visits and acute illness care, injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Prescribe and administer medications, perform routine childhood vaccinations per the recommended immunization schedule, and provide anticipatory guidance to patients and families regarding growth, development, nutrition, and personal health. Request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to pediatric specialists, as necessary.

Description

* Full-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Rancho Pediatrics in Temecula, California.
* Full-time is 40 hours per work week (36 patient-facing hours in clinic; 4 admin hours non-clinic).
* Competitive salary.

Required Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Minimum Education Required

* Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
* National board certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC/FNP-C) with pediatric experience.

Minimum Experience and Licensure Required

* Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) license. (Required)
* Active California Furnishing Number and DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain).
* Prior experience in outpatient pediatrics preferred.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required

* Bilingual Spanish or other language preferred but not required.
* EMR: EPIC.
* Strong understanding of pediatric examination methodologies and diagnostics.
* Knowledge of child growth and development milestones and developmental screening tools.
* Excellent knowledge of pediatric infectious diseases, their symptoms and epidemiology.
* Broad knowledge of common pediatric medications, weight-based dosing, side effects and contraindications.
* In-depth knowledge of legal and best medical guidelines and pediatric medicine best practices.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with children and their parents/guardians.
* Respect for patient and family confidentiality.

Expected Hours of Work

* Full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in pediatrics (30–40 hours per work week).
* Providers see approximately three patients per hour.
* 4- or 5-day work week options.
* Schedule: typical schedule is four 10-hour days (9 hours patient-facing; 1 hour lunch), and one 4-hour admin day (non-clinic; can be from home).
* Night call schedule is 2–3 times per year (one full week each time during non-clinic hours; no in-person responsibilities).

* Guaranteed Annual Salary. * Annual Bonus: Provider Incentive Compensation Model (PICP). * Our bonus model is intended to align provider efforts with strategic goals and performance of the medical group. Each year, a minimum of 3 metrics will determine how incentive compensation and bonuses are distributed across all RFMG providers. Metric examples: * Production/Volume (work RVUs generated by provider). * Panel Management (Medicare Advantage and HCCs addressed). * Quality/Satisfaction (Net Promoter Score – Patient Satisfaction Survey). * Paid time off for PTO and CME. * 40 hours of Sick Time (unused sick time rolls over into PTO the following year). * Annual CME Reimbursement Allowance: $1,000. * Ongoing License Fees Paid (Boards, DEA, NP, RN, Furnishing, etc.). * Annual Dues Paid for One Association. * Life Insurance Equal to 1x Annual Base. * Long-Term Disability at 60% with a max and a 90-Day Elimination Period. * Malpractice insurance with Tail Coverage provided at 20% per full year of service (100% after completion of 5 years). * Health Benefits are effective the first day of the month after employment begins pending enrollment completion and processing. Provider Health Benefits will be either fully (HMO) or partially (PPO) paid for by the Company, depending on the insurance plan elected by you. * Eligibility to participate in a 401(k) retirement savings plan the first of the month following three months of employment. The Company will make a Safe Harbor Matching Contribution equal to 100% of your salary deferrals that do not exceed 4% of your eligible pay.
