The Dietitian supports our clients in optimizing nutrition to benefit physical and mental health, often collaborating with other team members to achieve this. The Dietitian plays a key role in identifying clients who may benefit from addition of the Nutrition Program to their treatment plan.

Primary Purpose and Function

The Lead Dietitian supports client in optimizing nutrition to benefit physical and mental health, often collaborating with other team members to achieve this. The Lead Dietitian plays a key role in identifying clients who may benefit from addition of the Nutrition Program (individual medical nutrition therapy sessions and nutrition group).

Primary Responsibilities Include

* Conduct nutrition assessments and ongoing nutrition follow up sessions.

* Expose clients to, and teach them, mindful eating habits.

* Cook meals with clients.

* Observe clients' eating and cooking habits, both at home and at restaurants.

* Document sessions using Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic nutrition care process (PES format).

* Plan topics for, facilitate, and document weekly men’s and women’s nutrition groups.

* Lead/oversee weekly meal planning groups within residential and semi-independent houses

* All other duties as assigned

Requirements

* Bachelors degree in field of nutrition; Masters preferred.

* Completion of dietetic internship with active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credentials.

* Maintain active registration status with Commission on Dietetics Registration.

* Specific, required, current, and active licensure, registration, or certification must be maintained in good standing.

* Preferred candidates should have sound understanding of mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and milieu therapy.

* Proficient computer skills and ability use various software programs.

* Have a valid driver’s license in good standing and auto insurance.

* Successfully complete drug screen and comprehensive background check.

* Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and boosted (if eligible), or have a valid exemption.
