Job Description
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license is required
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Assigned on hire – RQI)
- Minimum of five (5) years of acute pediatric clinical experience preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a specified area of nursing practice in pediatrics
- Minimum of one (1) year experience providing clinical education to nurses in the particular area of specialty hired to provide
- Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds without assistance
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Knowledge/Skill:
- Must possess good work ethics and a professional image at all times
- Knowledge of CMS conditions of participation, CDPH state regulations, CCS, and TJC (hospital, nursing care center, and laboratory) accreditation requirements as applicable to job
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications as applicable to job
- Possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Works responsibly in a team environment as well as independently
- Manages confidential information effectively and appropriately
Key Responsibilities
The Specialty Nurse Educator serves as a clinical expert and mentor to provide quality nursing education and training within the NICU. They collaborate with management and clinical teams to identify staff learning needs and enhance clinical competence in specialty care areas.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a current California Registered Nurse license and possess BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications. A minimum of five years of acute pediatric clinical experience and at least one year of experience in clinical education are required.
