The Behavioral Health Care Manager I manages psychiatric and substance abuse disorder facility-based and outpatient professional treatment health benefits through telephonic or written review. Primary duties involve using screening criteria and clinical judgment to assess member needs for medically necessary behavioral healthcare in cost-effective settings.
Requirements
A minimum of a Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral health field, or a nursing degree, is required, along with at least 3 years of experience in facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. A current, active, unrestricted professional license (such as RN, LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist) is mandatory, though a BCBA may be acceptable under specific conditions.
