Job Title: School Occupational Therapist (Part-Time)

Location: Hollywood, FL (BridgePrep Academy Broward – 1100 Hillcrest Dr)

Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly / Contract

Reports To: Principal or ESE Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW

BridgePrep Academy Broward is seeking a compassionate, licensed School Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Exceptional Student Education (ESE) team on a part-time basis.

In this role, you will evaluate and support students who require therapy to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, handwriting, self-regulation, and visual-motor integration—ensuring they can fully participate in daily classroom routines and achieve their academic potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Direct Service Delivery: Provide direct individual and small-group occupational therapy sessions to ESE students according to their IEP specifications.

* Evaluations & Eligibility: Conduct functional OT assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and establish educational relevance for therapy services.

* IEP Leadership & Compliance: Formulate measurable fine-motor, visual-motor, and sensory-based IEP goals; maintain accurate therapy logs and attend IEP meetings.

* Classroom Accommodations: Recommend adaptive tools, pencil grips, flexible seating, sensory strategies, and environmental modifications to support general and special education teachers.

* Family Engagement: Partner with families to provide progress updates, home exercises, and practical strategies to support student development outside of school.

KEY SUCCESS METRICS

* 100% Compliance: Deliver all required service minutes, progress reports, and compliance documentation on time and without error.

* Goal Achievement: Document measurable progress toward individualized student fine-motor and functional goals.

* Effective Collaboration: Proactively consult with teachers, ESE coordinators, and related service providers to maximize student inclusion.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

* Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.

* Licensure: Active Florida Occupational Therapist (OT) License issued by the Florida Department of Health.

* Experience: Previous pediatric or school-based OT experience strongly preferred.

* Clearance: Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (HB 531).

* References: Must provide three professional reference checks, including at least one direct supervisor.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a degree in Occupational Therapy and possess an active Florida Occupational Therapist license. Previous pediatric or school-based experience is strongly preferred, along with the ability to pass a Level 2 background screening.
