Job Title: School Physical Therapist (Part-Time)

Location: Hollywood, FL (BridgePrep Academy Broward – 1100 Hillcrest Dr)

Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly / Contract

Reports To: Principal or ESE Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW

BridgePrep Academy Broward is seeking a dedicated, licensed School Physical Therapist (PT) to join our Exceptional Student Education (ESE) team on a part-time basis.

In this role, you will evaluate, plan, and provide therapy services to students with gross motor or physical impairments, helping them safely navigate the school environment, access curriculum, and meet their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Direct Therapy & Services: Deliver direct physical therapy services to qualified ESE students in accordance with their IEP mandates and state guidelines.

* Evaluations & Assessments: Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and re-evaluations to determine student eligibility and functional needs within the educational environment.

* IEP Management & Compliance: Draft measurable gross-motor IEP goals, track progress, maintain treatment logs, and participate in IEP team meetings.

* Consultation & Collaboration: Partner with ESE teachers, general education staff, and school leadership to recommend classroom modifications, adaptive equipment, and safety strategies.

* Parent Communication: Engage with families regarding student progress, home strategy recommendations, and therapy updates.

KEY SUCCESS METRICS

* 100% Compliance: Complete all evaluation reports, treatment logs, and IEP documentation accurately and within mandatory timelines.

* Goal Progression: Measure and document consistent progress toward gross motor IEP goals for assigned students.

* Seamless Collaboration: Active integration with campus ESE leadership and multidisciplinary service providers.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

* Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.

* Licensure: Active Florida Physical Therapist (PT) License issued by the Florida Department of Health.

* Experience: Prior experience working in a school-based setting, pediatric therapy, or working with children with special needs preferred.

* Clearance: Level 2 background screening clearance through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (HB 531).

* References: Must be able to provide three professional references, including at least one direct supervisor.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a degree in Physical Therapy and an active Florida Physical Therapist license. Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is preferred, along with successful completion of a Level 2 background screening.
