Key Responsibilities
The psychiatrist participates in clinical patient care and provides supervision for mental health services within a correctional environment. They also function as a consultant to the Medical Director and guide the delivery of care to the inmate population.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a current license to practice psychiatry in the state of employment and possess BLS and ACLS certifications. While not mandatory, previous experience in a correctional setting is considered a plus.
