Job Description

  • Psychiatrist (MD/DO)
  • Compensation: 60% of Net Collections; (Estimated earning potential of $210-$270 per clinical session)
  • Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor (practice requirement of at least 10 hours per week)
  • Schedule: At least 16 clinical hours per week
  • Location: This is an onsite position supporting either our Raleigh or Durham office

Role Summary

North Carolina Mental Health & Psychiatry Group, which partners with and operates out of the Lepage Associates offices, is seeking a highly qualified, Board-Certified Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join our thriving practice in either Raleigh or Durham, NC. Our ideal candidate is an experienced clinician who is passionate about providing comprehensive psychiatric care across the lifespan—ages 5 through 80—in an outpatient setting who works a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Psychiatrist Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients in the outpatient setting.

  • Provide medication management and therapy to a diverse patient population.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatric treatment and research methodologies.

Make referrals for psychotherapy when indicated and collaborate with all other mental health professionals involved in the patient’s care to ensure comprehensive treatment.

Maintain accurate and confidential client records completely all documentation in compliance with legal/ethical standards.

  • Advocate for clients' needs and rights, including access to psychiatric services and medications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted medical license in North Carolina, or willing to obtain
  • Board-Certified Psychiatrist (MD or DO)

Possess and maintain a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) number and all other licenses and certificates that may be lawfully required to prescribe medications, including controlled substances.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience treating children, adolescents, adults, and older adults (ages 5–80) in private practice

  • Strong understanding of psychiatrist assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and therapeutic techniques
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions in psychiatric treatment
