Key Responsibilities

The Genetics Counselor will compile family histories, evaluate genetic test results, and provide pre and post-test counseling to patients and families. They will also coordinate specialized genetic testing, assist medical geneticists with patient care, and provide grief and crisis counseling.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in genetics counseling or a related field from an accredited program. A Washington State DOH license for Genetic Counselor and national certification are required.
