Outpatient Therapist

Gratiot Integrated Health Network (GIHN) has an immediate opening for a full-time, Masters prepared clinician, to provide outpatient therapy services to adults, children and families residing in Gratiot County. Preference for those who have a desire and ability to work with children and families.

Employment Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work or Professional Counseling. Michigan licensure appropriate to professional degree, i. e., LPC, LLPC, LMSW, LLMSW, is required.

Must have experience in the diagnosis and provision of services to individuals with mental health disorders and, developmental disabilities in a mental health or other human services agency. Experience with substance use disorders, or willingness to learn about substance use disorders, preferred. Must be a QMHP with a minimum of one year related work experiences.

GIHN employees will actively support the goal of person-centered planning and integrated care throughout the recovery process and will acknowledge and develop competencies to support the understanding of the complexities of the human condition and the manner in which physical health, substance use disorders and physical and/or emotional trauma are interrelated to the need for mental health services.

Must demonstrate computer skills, including entering and retrieving data. Must be able to read and interpret statistical data. Must demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Must exhibit strong spelling, grammar and both oral and written communication skills.

Other Requirements

The candidate must maintain documentation to agency and professional standards. A valid Michigan Driver’s License is required to operate an agency vehicle or to transport consumers. Candidates must meet successful clearance of criminal and driving background checks.

This job operates in a professional office environment; however, it may require travel to other locations including, but not limited to, consumer’s homes, physician offices, court houses, etc. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work.

This is a full-time position. Some flexibility in hours is allowed but the employee is expected to be available during the core works hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a. m. to 5 p. m. the majority of the time, and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status, unless an adjusted schedule is pre-approved. Some evening hours and weekends may be required.

Travel.

Travel may be necessary for this position but is generally located within Gratiot County. A valid Michigan Driver’s license is required to operate GIHN vehicles or to transport consumers in personal or GIHN owned vehicles.

Required Education and Experience.

Master’s degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling or related field, is required. Michigan licensure appropriate to professional degree, i. e. LLP, LMSW, is required. Must have experience in the diagnosis and provision of services to individuals with mental health illness, developmental disabilities, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders in a mental health or other human services agency. Must be a QMHP with a minimum of one year related work experience.

Preferred Education and Experience.

Three years of work experience in the mental health field. Desire and ability to work with Children and Families is preferred.
