Responsibilities

Performing comprehensive, periodic, limited, emergency, and other appropriate dental examinations.

Evaluating medical and dental histories, medications, allergies, radiographs, clinical findings, and other diagnostic information before treatment.

Diagnosing dental conditions and developing appropriate, comprehensive treatment plans.

Providing dental treatment within the dentist's education, training, experience, competency, and scope of practice.

Performing restorative, preventive, prosthodontic, surgical, and other procedures appropriate to the provider's qualifications and the services offered by the practice.

• Providing appropriate anesthesia and pain-control measures when indicated.
• Evaluating and treating dental emergencies in a timely manner.

Recognizing conditions requiring consultation or referral and referring patients to appropriate specialists or healthcare providers when necessary.

• Reviewing hygiene patients and completing examinations in a timely manner to support efficient patient flow.
• Providing appropriate postoperative instructions and follow-up care.

Managing complications or unexpected treatment outcomes appropriately and communicating concerns promptly to practice leadership when warranted.

• Reviewing laboratory cases and prescriptions for accuracy and completeness.
• Providing clinically appropriate prescriptions in accordance with applicable laws and professional standards.
• Ensuring continuity of care for patients receiving treatment within the practice.

Providing care based upon the patient's clinical needs rather than production goals, insurance benefits, or financial incentives.

Qualifications

DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from an ADA-accredited dental school is required

• Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in General Dentistry
• Current state license
• Previous experience in clinical or private practice
• CPR, BLS, and NPI certifications
• Deep understanding of dental standards and dental medicine trends
• Excellent bedside manner
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
