This is a 100% in-person, school-based position supporting multiple Rocky Mountain Prep campuses in the Denver metro area. The School Psychologist will work on-site alongside students, colleagues, and families and will travel between assigned campuses based on student and school needs. This position is not remote or hybrid.

The RMP Promise

Rocky Mountain Prep is a movement of educators, families, scholars, and advocates committed to changing public education in Colorado by democratizing college access for historically marginalized students and families.

We operate twelve college-preparatory schools serving students from early childhood through twelfth grade, and we are fundamentally a world-class learning organization that invests deeply in every educator who joins us.

Team members engage in ongoing coaching and professional development, supported by clear expectations, transparent feedback, and opportunities to strengthen their craft and advance along individualized career pathways grounded in our PEAK values.

Rooted in a culture of rigor and love, RMP promises to coach, develop, and champion every team member so they can do their best work and grow as professionals, people, and leaders.

Our Approach to School Psychology

The School Psychologist plays a critical role in ensuring Rocky Mountain Prep scholars receive the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support they need to thrive.

Working in close partnership with school leaders, educators, special education teams, families, and community providers, the School Psychologist leads high-quality psychological evaluations, supports legally compliant and student-centered special education programming, and helps teams design effective interventions based on individual student needs.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, a deep understanding of IDEA and Section 504, and a commitment to providing equitable, culturally responsive services to students and families.

School Psychologists at Rocky Mountain Prep Will…

Conduct comprehensive, culturally responsive, and legally defensible psychological evaluations to determine student needs and eligibility for Special Education and Section 504 services.

Administer, score, and interpret cognitive, executive functioning, social-emotional, behavioral, adaptive, and other assessments, translating findings into clear and actionable recommendations.

Partner with multidisciplinary teams to develop high-quality IEPs, 504 Plans, interventions, and services that respond to students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.

Participate in and contribute to IEP, eligibility, and Manifestation Determination meetings, communicating evaluation results clearly and compassionately with students, families, educators, and other stakeholders.

Collaborate with school teams on Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), progress monitoring, and tiered academic, behavioral, and mental health interventions.

Provide consultation, coaching, classroom observation, and problem-solving support to educators and school leaders to strengthen student supports and inclusive learning environments.

Support school-based crisis prevention and response, including suicide risk reviews, nonsuicidal self-injury protocols, threat response processes, and network crisis response procedures.

Build strong partnerships with families and community providers, connecting families with appropriate resources and helping them navigate services that support student well-being and success.

Contribute to schoolwide and network mental health systems, including social-emotional screening, restorative and trauma-informed practices, and other initiatives that advance equitable outcomes for all scholars.

All Members of the Mental Health Team at Rocky Mountain Prep will:

Advance the social-emotional, behavioral, and mental wellness of students through strengths-based, culturally responsive, and equity-driven practices grounded in a multi-tiered system of support. They proactively design and implement Tier 1, 2, and 3 interventions that promote safety, belonging, and academic access, while responding effectively to crisis and high-impact student needs.

These team members partner closely with families, educators, and community providers to remove barriers to learning, uphold student rights, and ensure compliance with all applicable special education and student services regulations. They use data to inform decisions, coach adults toward best practices, and serve as trusted advocates so that every scholar experiences dignity, connection, and the opportunity to thrive.
