Job Description: The Mental Health Therapist – Staff is accountable for the
provision of clinical counselling services to adult outpatients as required in
Mental Health and Addictions. Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent is
responsible for day-to-day client service delivery.

Education
* Baccalaureate Degree in Psychology, Social Work or other Human Services
degree in relation to counselling.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
* Knowledge of human behavior, group dynamics, how to present and explain
materials, lead discussions.
* Counselling skills and knowledge base of group work and individual therapy.
* Knowledge of treating mood disorders, generalized anxiety and phobias, theory
of abuse, factors leading to and perpetrating abuse.
* Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act.
* Knowledge of case management principles.
* Knowledge in the areas of Family Violence, Depression Support, Borderline
Personality Disorder, Generalized Anxiety and Phobias, etc.
* Competencies in relation to the assessment and treatment of personality and
cognitive disorders.
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
* Extended periods of visual and auditory attention.
* Vigilant to potentially explosive situations.
* Travel within the Province.
* Strong computer skills with knowledge of word processing and other software.

* Registered or eligible for registration with applicable professional
association in the Province of Saskatchewan.
* Valid Driver’s License.

Requirements
Candidates must hold a Baccalaureate degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related Human Services field. Registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional association in Saskatchewan is required.
