Position Summary

Eli Pharmacy is seeking a highly skilled, quality-driven, and experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead our clinical compounding operations at our new state-of-the-art flagship facility in Duluth, GA.

This position offers an outstanding work-life balance with a desirable Monday through Friday schedule—no evenings, no weekends, and closed on six major holidays. This critical leadership role oversees both sterile and non-sterile compounding operations fully compliant with USP <795>, USP <797>, and USP <800> standards.

The ideal candidate will take ultimate regulatory, operational, and clinical accountability for compounding quality assurance, staff oversight, and regulatory compliance.

With a core focus on peptides, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), customized dermatology formulations, and longevity medicine, the PIC will drive clinical excellence and operational integrity across our high-standard pharmacy facility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance Oversight

Serve as the official Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) registered with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy, maintaining full responsibility for state and federal regulatory compliance.

Ensure rigorous, continuous compliance with USP <795>, USP <797>, and USP <800> guidelines across all cleanroom and laboratory spaces.

Direct environmental monitoring, cleanroom testing, media fills, fingertip sampling, end-product testing, and beyond-use date (BUD) verification protocols.

Lead regulatory inspections and manage internal prep-audits, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans, and incident documentation.

2. Clinical & Technical Compounding Operations

Oversee complex compounding formulations specializing in peptides, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), advanced dermatological topicals, and longevity/anti-aging therapies.

Supervise cleanroom operations, aseptic techniques, laminar airflow workbench procedures, and hazardous drug containment equipment.

Evaluate master formulation records (MFRs) and compounding process records (CPRs), ensuring strict potency, purity, and sterility validation.

3. Clinical Staff Management & Technical Training

Recruit, train, and supervise staff pharmacists, compounding technicians in aseptic technique, cleanroom behavior, and USP compliance.

Conduct mandatory competencies, annual re-evaluations, and ongoing didactic training for all sterile and non-sterile compounding personnel.

Partner closely with the Pharmacy Operations Manager to align clinical queue workflows with fulfillment logistics and daily workflow prioritization.

4. Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) & Inventory Control

Oversee sourcing, testing, and certificate of analysis (COA) verification for high-purity APIs, excipients, and specialty packaging materials.

Maintain strict inventory control and oversight of hazardous substances, controlled substances, and temperature-sensitive biologicals/peptides.

5. Provider Consultation & Patient Care

Serve as the primary clinical resource for prescribing physicians and practitioners regarding custom dosing, peptide protocols, HRT regimens, and therapeutic alternatives.

Provide expert clinical medication counseling to patients regarding compounded preparations, administration guidelines, storage, and potential side effects.

Qualifications

Licensure: Active, unencumbered Georgia Pharmacist License in good standing.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on sterile compounding experience required. Experience in a 503A compounding pharmacy environment is strongly preferred.

Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated experience and strong formulation background in peptides, HRT, customized dermatology, and longevity/functional medicine.

Regulatory Knowledge: Deep, comprehensive knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards, FDA rules, and Georgia State Board of Pharmacy regulations.

Core Competencies: Exceptional clinical judgement, meticulous attention to detail, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills. Proven capability to manage cleanroom operations and lead multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $130,000 – $150,000+ per year (commensurate with experience).

Work-Life Balance Schedule: Monday through Friday day-shift only. No evenings, no weekends, and no on-call shifts.

Paid Major Holidays: Closed on 6 major holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day).

Paid Time Off (PTO): Generous PTO package provided for vacation, personal time, and sick leave.

Health & Dental Benefits: Healthcare and Dental insurance options provided.

Performance Expectations

Success in this role will be measured by absolute regulatory compliance, cleanroom testing and environmental audit benchmarks, compounding accuracy and batch quality, operational turnaround efficiency, and seamless cross-departmental coordination with non-clinical fulfillment teams.

This is an active, hands-on clinical leadership position requiring unwavering commitment to patient safety, deep technical compounding expertise, and the authority to drive operational excellence across all pharmacy laboratory spaces.
