Job Description
Job Summary
Under general direction, provides occupational therapy services to mentally
and/or physically impaired patients, including assessment, treatment program
planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication. Directs
patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance
performance; facilitates the learning of those skills to promote functional
independence. Required to follow the State Practice Act KRS.319A. Demonstrates a
commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand
knowledge and skills. Contributes to the mission and philosophy of the
Organization. Contributes to the effective operation of the Organization by
demonstrating dependability in job performance. Exhibits the F. I. R. S. T. values

Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
Works inside a typical therapy setting on patient floors, outpatient clinic, or
off ground/unit activities as indicated. May be required to work a flexible
schedule. The task of this job involves occasional exposure to hazardous
chemicals and equipment. Exposure to stress of dealing with patients
experiencing pain/discomfort or who have physical/ mental disabilities. The task
of this job includes occasional exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue. Must
be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.
Contacts with Others
Has contact with patients and patient family members, other occupational therapy
staff, physical therapy, speech therapy and nursing, physicians, community
resources and other agencies.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Paraffin, hot packs, cold packs,
computer, wheelchair, hospital beds, heat gun. Transfertraining, CPR required.
BTE work simulator as needed, site specific.
Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) months exposure to related field to include successful
completion of clinicals.

Provides occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation to restore patient functional independence. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient care and organizational operations.
