Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Occupational Therapist, Per Diem Hospital/Inpatient.

In this role, the successful candidate provides appropriate therapy to help patients improve their ability to perform activities of daily living and to achieve optimal level of self-care and productivity. Uses clinical expertise to plan the delivery of safe, therapeutic, and age appropriate care through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs an objective functional evaluation including appropriate tests and measures and establishes a plan of care with measurable goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Provides patient, family, and clinician education regarding the patient's functional status and plan of care.
• Evaluates patient progress toward functional goals, and will modify the the plan of care accordingly.
• Interacts and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and health care goals. Provides on-site clinical supervision to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides.
• Maintains accurate, complete and timely documentation reflecting the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, education and interventions.
• Implements appropriate intervention/treatment as indicated by the patient's functional status, diagnosis, and age in conjunction with the plan of care.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy (Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) approved NYS OT program). Current and valid NYS Occupational Therapy license and registration. Basic Life Support Certification. 1- 2 years Hospital (Inpatient) or Orthopedic or Outpatient or Pediatric Rehabilitation setting. Communication (both written and oral), customer service, and critical thinking skills. Basic computer skills..

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree. Current and valid BLS or CPR certification Outpatient facility only. 1- 2 years Hospital (Inpatient) or Orthopedic (Outpatient) Rehabilitation setting.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $60.00 - $60.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
