Job Type: Full Time | Nights

Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts

Canyon Vista Medical Center is a 106-bed acute care hospital that strives to
offer exceptional care to the Sierra Vista community. As a Behavioral Health
Technician, you’ll join a compassionate, collaborative team where empathy and
evidence-based care go hand in hand. Our 19-bed behavioral health unit is
focused on supporting patients’ mental and emotional well-being, providing a
safe, therapeutic environment that promotes healing, dignity, and hope.

How you'll contribute

A Behavioral Health Tech who excels in this role

* Under the supervision of nursing staff, provides direct patient care and
assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
* Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
* Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures
and therapeutic interventions.
* Observes and records patient behavior and activities. 
* Reports any changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing
staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
* Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain
safety.

What we're looking for

* Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
* License: CNA Preferred
* Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must have within 45 days of hire
* Handle with Care (HWC) Must have within 45 days of hire
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work
with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and
take appropriate action.

Key Responsibilities

The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct patient care and assists with activities of daily living under the supervision of nursing staff. They are also responsible for observing patient behavior, reporting changes in condition, and performing crisis intervention to maintain a safe environment.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Preferred qualifications include a CNA license, while BLS and Handle with Care (HWC) certifications are required within 45 days of hire.
