Job Description

Who We Are

Associate Veterinarian – Companion Animal Care | Fond Du Lac, WI Behavior-Focused Care | Decades of Staff Loyalty | A Client Base That’s Been With Us Since Day One! Are you a passionate veterinarian ready to make a meaningful impact?

Join the dedicated team at Companion Animal Care in Fond Du Lac, where cutting-edge medicine blends seamlessly with a warm, family-oriented environment. For over 28 years, we’ve been more than just a veterinary clinic—we’re a trusted community partner, providing exceptional small animal care with heart. What Makes Us Special:

Modern, well-equipped facility: digital radiography, dental imaging, and the tools you need to deliver high-quality care.

  • Thoughtful clinic layout: three exam rooms plus a dedicated comfort room.
  • Exceptionally experienced support team: 3 CVTs and 3 skilled assistants.

Many team members have been with us 22–28 years, and our Hospital Manager has been here 24 years — a testament to the stability and culture at our practice.

Technicians utilized to their fullest: our highly skilled techs play a major role in patient care, allowing your workflow to stay efficient, supported, and sustainable.

A collaborative, supportive culture: strong team cohesion and long-term loyalty define our work environment.

Advanced, efficient systems: fully paperless since 2007, with the option for doctors to use AI-assisted SOAP notes.

A Unique Focus on Behavior & Bonding: At Companion Animal Care, we go beyond traditional care. With an on-site doggy daycare and a clinic-wide interest in canine behavior, we’re the ideal practice for veterinarians who are passionate about strengthening the human-animal bond.

Our Hospital Manager has taught obedience classes for over 20 years, adding a unique and enriching dimension to our care model. A Sustainable, Supportive Workflow: We believe in giving doctors the time and space they need to practice quality medicine. Our appointment structure includes:

  • 30–40 minute appointment times, adjustable based on patient needs
  • 1-hour lunch break
  • The ability to add catch-up time blocks when needed

Surgery and dentistry that are optional, based on your comfort level and interests — and we are fully supportive of referring to a specialty center

You’ll Also Enjoy Excellent Support Ratios

  • 2 technicians per DVM during surgery
  • 1 technician + 1 assistant (or 2 technicians) per DVM in appointments

We focus on practicing efficient, team-supported medicine so you can do your best work without burnout. Flexible Scheduling: We are open to full-time or part-time DVMs.

Our current doctor works 4.5 days per week, but we are completely flexible and will build a schedule that aligns with your lifestyle and preferences, with the benefit of no weekend shifts.

We Care for Our Community: We are proud partners of the Fond du Lac Humane Society, where we currently provide free initial wellness appointments for newly adopted pets. We are also open to adding additional services—including surgical support if an incoming doctor is interested in expanding this partnership.

Our clients are the heart of our practice—and many have been with us since we opened. Their trust and loyalty mean everything to us. Why Fond du Lac? Located on the shores of Lake Winnebago, Fond du Lac offers a perfect mix of small-town charm and big-city convenience.

Enjoy world-class fishing, snowmobiling, and windsurfing, plus easy access to Milwaukee, Madison, Appleton, and Green Bay—all within an hour’s drive. Outstanding Benefits Package:
