What you’ll be doing
As an Optometrist at Boots, you’ll play a key role in delivering brilliant
patient care – using the latest tech, working alongside experienced colleagues,
and supporting your community with clinical excellence. Whether you're leading a

Key responsibilities

* Leading clinics and delivering outstanding patient care
* Using the latest testing technology to assess eye health and provide expert
advice
* Providing enhanced services, from triage support to advanced assessments,
depending on store needs
* Offering clinical support to colleagues on the shop floor
* Collaborating with external healthcare professionals
* Keeping your clinical knowledge up to date and sharing it with others
* Playing a key role in your store’s leadership team, bringing energy and
insight to every shift

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
* We’re looking for Optometrists who are confident, compassionate, and always
focused on doing the right thing for patients.
* GOC registered (or expecting to be within 6 months)
* NHS performer number (or working towards it)
* Excellent communication and organisation skills
* A genuine interest in patient care and team collaboration

It would be great if you also have 
* Experience supporting enhanced services
* A strong understanding of local clinical networks

Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

This is a mobile Optometrist role based primarily in Broadstairs, with
additional cover required across Ashford, Folkestone and Deal.

Weekend working is required, with a varied shift pattern potentially consisting
of Mondays and Wednesdays across Broadstairs, one additional weekday in Deal,
and weekend cover in Ashford. The Broadstairs store has 3 testing rooms, free
parking, Optomap, and a supportive team including a resident DO and experienced
colleagues.

The role would suit either an experienced or newly qualified Optometrist, with
MECS training (desirable) and we will train you on ZEST. There are no late
nights, although support in Broadstairs until 6pm would be beneficial where
needed. Protected admin and catch-up time is built into the diary before lunch
and at the end of the day to support referrals and clinical workflow. The role
offers exposure to varied patient demographics, excellent transport links
between locations, and the benefit of working in a lovely seaside area with
great shops and food nearby.
