Job Description
We're glad you found us.
Athena Care has been offering high quality, accessible mental health care for over twenty years. If there's one thing we've learned, it's that great care starts with great clinicians who actually feel supported. We're an insurance-based practice growing across Tennessee, and we're looking for a PMHNP-BC to join our Nashville team.
We offer psychological testing, IOP/PHP, Spravato/IM Ketamine, TMS, psychotherapy, group therapy, and general psychiatry— often all under one roof. It's a lot — and it means your patients receive genuinely comprehensive care, and you get unique and interesting colleagues.
Who We're Looking For
Someone who is curious about people. Someone who finds energy in working with a diverse patient population and cares deeply about the humans sitting across from them. You're fully licensed and boarded as a PMHNP-BC and ready to practice independently — but that doesn't mean you want to work in isolation. You like collaboration; you value good clinical conversation, and you'd appreciate a team that actually has your back.
What It's Like to Work Here
We've worked hard to combine rigor and high-quality care with a fun and friendly work culture. Our staff aims to quietly take care of operations so you can stay focused on your patients. No drowning in admin chaos. No shouting into a void when you need support. At Athena Care we strive to offer the ideal balance of a small group practice feel on the ground with strong business expertise and technology behind the scenes
Here's What We Offer
A real multidisciplinary team — you'll collaborate with fellow therapists, PMHNPs, psychiatrists, and psychologists. Real collaboration, not just a org chart bullet point
- Clinical leadership that's approachable — our team genuinely wants to help you do your best work
- Continuity with your patients — outpatient work means you get to walk alongside people over time, which is where the real work happens
Your Day-to-day Role
You'll provide outpatient psychiatric care to adults, adolescents, and/or children navigating behavioral health challenges.
That means conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing, developing treatment plans, prescribing and managing medications, and writing progress notes, along with regular collaboration with the broader care team.
You'll keep your documentation timely and accurate in our EMR, maintain your licensure and DEA registration, and show up as a thoughtful, engaged member of the team.
Requirements
- What we're looking for on paper
- Open to a schedule that includes Friday as a work day (can be 4 10 hour days or 5 8 hour days)
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Tennessee APRN/RN licensure in good standing
- Board certification in psychiatry
- Current, valid DEA registration
- Prior experience providing mental health services preferred
- BLS Certification preferred
- Comfortable with EMR systems and standard tech tools
- HIPAA-savvy and committed to ethical, patient-centered practice
Benefits include: Health, dental, vision, and life insurance and 401(k) with employer match; continuing education reimbursement, and more!
We'd genuinely love to connect. Reach out and let's see if this could be a good fit — for you and for the people you'll serve.
