Job Description
A provider is exiting in January, necessitating full-time coverage beginning in February for a duration of at least three months, with the potential to extend to five or six months.
Schedule
Coverage options are either Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday from 7 AM to 3 PM. The remaining weekdays will require 24-hour call coverage.
Weekend call is available for those interested, typically compensated at the 24-hour call rate. The facility operates two operating rooms, one of which is shared with OB services, managing approximately 1-2 deliveries daily.
Weekend Call Dynamics
The standard on-call rotation includes either Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday. Expect one or two procedural cases over the weekend, along with various epidurals and occasional ICU line placements. It’s essential to remain locally available during call hours for timely response.
Case Mix
The surgical caseload comprises Bread & Butter procedures, gastrointestinal cases, straightforward orthopedic surgeries, general surgery, and obstetrics—excluding cardiac surgeries. Pediatric cases involve primarily healthy patients or simple procedures.
CRNA Supervision
There are no Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists on-site, thus no supervisory roles exist.
Call Patterns
The majority of callbacks are related to epidurals and C-sections.
Key Responsibilities
The anesthesiologist will provide full-time coverage for surgical cases, including general, orthopedic, and obstetric procedures. Responsibilities also include managing 24-hour call rotations and responding to callbacks for epidurals and C-sections.
Requirements
The candidate must be an anesthesiologist capable of managing a diverse surgical caseload independently without CRNA supervision. Must be available for on-call duties and remain locally accessible during call hours.
