Summary of Job Duties

The APRN will extend the patient care and administrative services for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology physicians in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

APRN will be expected to provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, perform procedures, and prescribe medicines and treatments. The APRN will also manage health issues for patients, independently or in collaboration with the designated physicians.

The APRN will work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patient's health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.

The APRN will also coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Direct RN Nursing Care experience with 2 years in a clinical environment and evidence of experience in leadership or independent practice roles

Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN License (Primary Care, Pediatric, Acute Care Pediatric, or Family) required

Must be able to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job (i. e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment). Must have normal communication sensory requirement. Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred nursing experience in pediatric, obstetrical or gynecological setting. Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire. Demonstrated communication (written and oral) problem-solving, leadership and collaborative skills, strong patient advocacy and patient education skills.

Additional Information

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe appropriate medical treatments, and manage patient health concerns in collaboration with the designated physician.

Coordinate specialized, multidisciplinary care and facilitate consultations to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate treatment.

Manage post-procedure immunosuppression therapy and laboratory monitoring in coordination with physicians and pharmacists.

Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to diagnose and manage patient health concerns while serving as an interdisciplinary resource, consultant, and patient advocate.

• Accurately document patient care, treatment plans, and outcomes within applicable critical care systems.
• Participate in institutional initiatives and encourage collaboration across teams.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programs using evidence-based practices to support high-quality patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
