This is an employed civilian (CRNA) position that affords job security, a competitive salary, bonuses, moving expenses, full malpractice coverage, up to 26 days paid vacation, 11 days paid Federal Holidays, a sick leave benefit, CME opportunities, and a first-class health and retirement benefit package.

Named after Medal of Honor recipient, PFC Bryant H. Womack, we are a fully accredited 110-bed, evidenced-based regional medical center and GME facility serving Fort Liberty, the home of Airborne and Special Operations and the largest U. S. Army installation in the world. We manage several outstanding Primary Care practice sites located in Fort Liberty, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.

Womack is located in Fayetteville, Fort Liberty which is 2 hours from the beach and 5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains with easy access to I-95 and all points north and south. This central North Carolina location enjoys seasonably palatable weather year-round. Many facilities and services are offered such as first class golfing venues and renowned universities, a skeet range, riding stables, ice skating rink, state-of-the-art fitness centers, daycare, star-quality dining, full service banking, convenience shop, barbershop, and florist.

Responsibilities

As a CRNA:

Determines the optimal type and method of anesthesia care to administer for a broad range of surgical procedures at the MTF.

Evaluates data, with respect to individualized anesthetic options and current practice guidelines, to determine and discuss the optimal anesthetic plan.

Obtains patient consent for the type of anesthesia to be utilized, expected outcomes and possible anesthetic complications.

Gathers equipment, prepares, inspects, and ensures proper sanitation and function of equipment to be used in performance of work.

Serves as an anesthesia resource consultant to a wide variety of medical, surgical, and nursing specialties to delineate the latest advances in anesthesia practice.

Evaluates data, with respect to anesthesia and evolvements within the field, to determine and discuss type of anesthesia to be used, and to explain expected outcomes and possible anesthetic complications.

Determines necessity for laboratory studies, coordinates ordering of lab tests and evaluates results.

Provides immediate, post-operative care to patients transported to the PACU, ICU or recovery area; ensures patient airway, hemodynamic stability, optimal pain control and appropriate level of consciousness.

Provides immediate and appropriate interventions to include advanced life support (ALS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) according to guidelines and within the scope of practice.

Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to treat underlying causes and conditions and stabilize the patient for transport to a higher level of care.

Documents assessments, orders, and interventions, appropriately, in the medical record.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship required
  • At least one year of clinical experience AFTER finishing CRNA program

Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
