Oral Surgery Dental Assistant

As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant at Ideal Dental, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care and support to both our patients and dental team. You’ll be empowered with the training, tools, and resources to advance your career while making a real difference in the lives of those you serve. What You’ll Do

Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment.

Prepare patients for surgery, including applying topical anesthetics and explaining the procedure to help them feel at ease.

Provide "chairside" assistance to the oral surgeon, anticipating their needs and efficiently passing instruments.

Maintain a clear surgical field using suction hoses and other equipment.

Monitor patient vital signs (e. g., blood pressure, heart rate) and anesthesia levels.

Provide patients with detailed post-operative instructions for managing pain, preventing infection, and promoting healing.

• Clean and disinfect the operating room and instruments after the procedure.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and handle other administrative tasks as needed.
• Monitor and replenish surgical supplies and inventory.
• Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment to take and process dental radiographs.

• Assisting Oral Surgeons with procedures
• Sterilizing instruments and setting up trays
• Preparing treatment rooms
• Assisting with conscious and iv sedation
• Performing X-rays
• Charting existing and recommended treatments
• Performing other duties as required to support the office and oral surgery team
• What do you need to have to be a part of our team?
• Active Registered Dental Assistant License
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum of 1 year of specific oral surgery experience
• Must be willing to travel within assigned areas
