The Cardiac & Vascular Institute (TCAVI) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support its growing cardiology team in Gainesville, Florida.
This full-time opportunity combines outpatient visits with inpatient cardiovascular care. The incoming provider will collaborate with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other clinical team members to evaluate and manage patients throughout their continuum of care.
Candidates with cardiology or acute care experience are encouraged to apply. We will also consider motivated new graduates interested in developing a long-term career in cardiovascular medicine. Structured onboarding, physician collaboration, and mentorship are available to help providers expand their clinical knowledge and confidence.
- What You’ll Do
- Evaluate patients with a variety of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
- Provide care in both the outpatient office and hospital environment
- Participate in inpatient rounding, consultations, and post-hospital follow-up
- Obtain medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations
- Formulate individualized care plans in collaboration with the cardiology team
- Order and evaluate laboratory testing, EKGs, cardiac imaging, stress tests, and other diagnostic studies
- Manage medications and monitor patients’ responses to treatment
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, risk reduction, and ongoing care
- Communicate with referring providers and other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain complete and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

- Candidate Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current national certification as an NP or PA
- Licensed or eligible to obtain licensure in Florida
- Interest in cardiovascular medicine and long-term professional development
- Cardiology, hospital medicine, or acute care experience is beneficial but not required
- Strong assessment, communication, and organizational abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical environment
