Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist (US Tech) is responsible for independently performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures at all South Central OB/GYN clinic locations while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality. This position operates with self-initiative under indirect supervision. While assigned a primary clinic location, the employee may rotate to other locations based on staffing and operational needs, at the discretion of the Clinic Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
* Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
* Completion of an AMA-approved radiology and ultrasonography program.
* Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
* Licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Health as a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT).
* Current CPR/BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous OB/GYN ultrasound experience preferred.
* Experience with electronic medical records.
* Strong patient service and communication skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Perform ultrasound exams as requested by providers.
* Verify physician orders, exam requests, and diagnoses for accuracy.
* Confirm patient identity using approved patient identifiers.
* Complete required consent forms, documentation, scanning, and EMR entries.
* Evaluate ultrasound images for quality, orientation, and proper identification.
* Maintain ultrasound equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
* Comply with safety, infection control, HIPAA, and facility policies.
* Assist providers, staff, and patients as needed.
* Participate in quality improvement and training initiatives.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
* Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and patient interaction.
* Visual, auditory, and manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment and interpret images.
* May assist with patient transport and positioning.
* Exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, noise, and other environmental hazards.
