Job Description

Medical Director / Physician Hartford CT

$350K+ | Monday–Friday | flexible shifts (5-6 hours per day)

We are seeking a Medical Director / Physician to join an established rehabilitation hospital in Hartford, CT. This is an excellent opportunity for a PM&R/Physiatry or Internal Medicine physician looking for strong earning potential, clinical leadership, and an exceptional work-life balance.

Enjoy a Monday–Friday schedule with flexible start and end times and approximately 5–6 clinical hours per day—without traditional 12-hour hospital shifts.

What You'll Do

  • Provide medical management for patients in a rehabilitation hospital setting
  • Perform histories, physicals and patient evaluations
  • Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions
  • Order and review labs, imaging and diagnostic testing
  • Review and approve rehabilitation care plans
  • Prescribe medications and coordinate specialty referrals
  • Participate in interdisciplinary patient care conferences
  • Collaborate with rehabilitation, nursing and clinical teams
  • Monitor patient progress and continuity of care
  • Provide clinical leadership as Medical Director
  • Work with leadership on policies and procedures affecting patient care
  • Attend required monthly meetings

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with CT medical license or ability to obtain
  • BCBE PM&R / Physiatry or Internal Medicine background
  • DEA and applicable controlled substance registration
  • ACLS certification
  • Strong communication and clinical leadership skills
  • Rehabilitation experience preferred
