Lung Transplant Physician Job Opportunity

Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) in Dallas, Texas is seeking a Lung Transplant Physician to join an establish team.

Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) is the largest not-for-profit health care system in the State of Texas and one of the largest in the United States. The BSWH system includes 47 hospitals, more than 900 access points, over 6,600 physicians and 43,500 employees, plus a state certified Health Maintenance Organization, the Scott and White Health Plan (Health Plan), and Baylor Quality Health Care Alliance LLC (BSWQA) – a high performing network of clinical providers and facilities focused on improving quality, managing the health of patient populations, and reducing the overall cost of care.

Summary of the Position

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients undergoing lung transplantation. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment alongside a multidisciplinary team of experts dedicated to improving the lives of patients with advanced lung disease. The Center for Advanced Heart & Lung disease has a very active research program with a strong supporting team and is involved in multiple clinical trials and registries.

The Center for Advanced Lung Diseases receives support from the advanced heart failure specialists, experienced cardiac and thoracic surgeons, interventional cardiologists, fellowship trained chest radiologists, rheumatologists, and pathologists who specialize in pulmonary pathology. The Center has a robust program in heart and lung transplantation, ECMO, and pulmonary thromboembolectomy.

Baylor University Medical Center is a tertiary care institution with a large commitment to medical education. Candidates will have the opportunity and are encouraged to be involved in the teaching of Texas A&M medical students, residents and fellows. Academic appointment commensurate to experience is available.

  • Candidate Qualifications
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship in Lung Transplantation or equivalent experience

Demonstrated expertise in the evaluation and management of patients with advanced lung disease, including candidates for lung transplantation.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

· Doctorate Degree in Medicine

· Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board

· Where Applicable- Employee shall be currently board certified in his or her specialty or demonstrate active pursuit of board certification as defined by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists
