Schedule: 0600-1830 x 3 days per week. Every Saturday and Sunday plus one floating weekday (self-scheduled) Holidays: Holiday rotation required. Weekends: Every Saturday and Sunday. Weekend program with an extra 15% differential on Saturday and Sunday. One weekend off per quarter.

Job Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 2 is highly proficient in the management and delivery of respiratory care. Demonstrates competencies in respiratory assessments and procedures for all patient populations and age groups. Performs and interacts as a healthcare professional administering respiratory care procedures acute care areas and critical care areas. Demonstrates critical thinking skills and the mastery of clinical skills outlined in the RCP 2 COT. Precepts students on rotation. Exhibits leadership skills and is able to act as lead therapist as needed. Under the direction of the Pulmonary Services Leadership team, provides professional respiratory care to patients in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Minimum of 1 year of experience plus the ability to show RCP II competency within 6 months of hire/transfer into role is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care is preferred.
Education Description
Associate degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Critical thinking skills are required.
Licensure Description
State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required. For incumbents in this role prior to 7/1/21, the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be accepted in lieu of the RRT. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. Advanced specialty credential from the NBRC or Asthma Educator Certification(AE-C) from the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) is preferred.
